Challenge for May

You know, I’m probably not alone. The pandemic hit us all somehow. For me, it especially hit the fat in my body. I’m very aware of what I’ve been doing, and even though I wish I could easily blame someone else for shoving all that chocolate and ice cream down my throat… It was all my decision and my own hands performing the act. So, time for change because yessummer is coming (brace yourselves)!

I also know that you shouldn’t post about what you’re gonna do but instead show the results when you’ve done it but I made a really cute picture below and wanted to share it. And maybe inspire more people! ☆

Våffeldagen 🧇

I had five waffles today, and while that’s not a record for me (more a tradition really), it really killed me afterwards. Am I getting too old for waffles? I don’t want to think so…

Anyway, today was one of those days where the Swedes decided to celebrate their (yes waffles are Swedish do not question me) epic food again. Today is the National Waffle Day! That means that today is the only day of the year where you’re allowed to eat as many waffles you want to without being judged, woo! 😃

Second hand dresses 👗

Aren’t these super cute? Yesterday when I went to one of my favourite second hand stores – Erikshjälpen – I saw them and just couldn’t resist! I can’t remember the last time I bought clothes, it happens only a few times per year lately (which is good, of course!). I prefer second hand over totally brand new clothes mostly because of the lower price and you also get a bigger variety of style than in any other store.

After been living in Seoul for many years, I came to realise the cost difference between Sweden and Korea. Of course, they also have boutiques and expensive clothing like us, but they had way more stores (not just clothes, but pretty much everything) with cheaper stuff. So when I came back to Sweden, I totally changed my shopping behaviour. I bought most of my clothing there, as it was cheaper, and could easily spot an overpriced item here in Sweden. Overall, I stopped buying so much! You know, when you’re younger (especially when you’re a teenager) you care way too much about how you look and the latest trends. And you buy too much clothes. At least that’s how it was for me…

Anyway, simply said, shopping at second hand stores is not just beneficial for your wallet but also the climate (even though our world is pretty much lost already), and the store I went to is also supporting humanitarian projects through its own fundraising which is just so great!

Djungelskog sightings 🐻

This is unacceptable. Preposterous. I found DJUNGELSKOG today. You know, that incredible charismatic chubby soft bear from IKEA that almost won the Swedish president election once (remember?). 100% pecan brown silk-like fluff. Irresistible. Uh, where were I… Right. I found Djungelskog today. Where did I find him? At a second hand store. *takes a deep breath* I repeat. At a second hand store. This is not okay. We are talking about Djungelskog!

Do people actually think that you can just buy Djungelskog (firstly, you’re not the one who choose Djungelskog, HE chooses you), and then move on with your life like nothing happened? I’m sorry, but that’s not how it works. Once you get Djungelskog, it’s a lifelong commitment, no matter if he will be the end of you. You do not dump him in a second hand store, he’s worth more than that!

“Nobody wants me anymore”, he told me.

The Melody Festival 2021 🇸🇪

Here in Sweden we are a bit crazy about the Eurovision Song Contest, because we have in total 6 shows where we select our winner of the year – and this year was no different! Maybe you can divide our nation into two parties; those who follow every show and love Eurovision, and those who don’t. In our family, it’s kind of a tradition to watch it and there’s not much to watch on TV anyway so why not?

So today was the final show, where we (finally) decided which song to send to Eurovision! I was kind of convinced (or at least hoping) of that one particular artist would win, and I was right! I really like this song. But I wonder how this year’s Eurovision will be like because of Corona? 😣
